New Course On Startup Blogging: Validate Your Business Idea

It is based on the three-hour workshop I delivered for WordCamp Ottawa last weekend but will go into more detail, focusing primarily on idea validation, with the added benefits of weekly accountability, templates and resources, a bit of virtual community, a sprinkling of positive vibes (always) and gentle bum kicking (or motivation if you wish). I am really happy with the feedback on the content and my presenter style…5 out of 5 ***** from session attendees, lots of interaction throughout the live workshop and many staying on afterwards to have a chat with me and discuss their ideas.

Lessons for all seasons

Woke up this morning to the US Election results after my husband and I were up most of the night looking after our baby. Around 3am he mentioned the current poll results, I gave it a quick thought then went back to looking after our son and back to bed. Now that I have hadContinue reading “Lessons for all seasons”

NYC in a nutshell: Packing and prepping for winter in Manhattan

Baby it’s cold outside. Take it from a girl who has experienced the effects of leaving summer in balmy Australia for Christmas in bitterly cold Canada, complete with a 70°C temperature difference: you’re going to want to pack a few things to save your face, hair and the rest of you from the frost! This one is a bit girlyContinue reading “NYC in a nutshell: Packing and prepping for winter in Manhattan”

NYC in a nutshell: Attractions, sightseeing and people watching

Bright lights! Big city! New York is a feast for the eyes and I stayed right in the thick of it in Midtown Manhattan for Social Media Week NYC. NYC in a nutshell: Shopping in Manhattan

For those of you who know me well, I’ve always been a collector of fashion magazines and more recently, a follower of fashion and lifestyle blogs, Instagram accounts and Pinterest design inspiration boards. The irony is, I don’t often splurge on high fashion or big name brands and I love looking through thrift store racks, vintage and antiqueContinue reading “NYC in a nutshell: Shopping in Manhattan”

NYC in a nutshell: An experience of a lifetime

Or as I should call it, how to cope in subzero temperatures during one of the coldest winters in a decade to hit the Big Apple: “You’re in New York! The city of dreams! Even if it’s -15°C, you should be outside in the great outdoors exploring!” These are all inside thoughts I had while briskContinue reading “NYC in a nutshell: An experience of a lifetime”

NYC in a nutshell: Food and drink

NYC in a nutshell: We all know there are heaps of blog posts, TripAdvisor reviews and Instagrams floating around the WWW tempting you to eat out, sample cocktails, order take away or try new recipes at home. I believe the scientific term for this is: food porn. Now I am guilty of the odd FP snapContinue reading “NYC in a nutshell: Food and drink”

NYC in a nutshell

I made the trip to New York from Dublin in February for 10 days – it was a mix of business and pleasure as I caught up with Aussie colleagues and friends living in the city. We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Chandler in Midtown Manhattan near the Flatiron District and spent the weekend before theContinue reading “NYC in a nutshell”
