Pleasure over pressure
Embodying those words from Rebecca Campbell, this is how I’ve been feeling over the past year and a half: Indulging, slowing down, trying to be present and releasing the often unnecessary pressure from the day-to-day rhythms of my life.

What the New Moon in Taurus is made for: Handmade macarons, fresh flowers and magic.
Thank you to my sister for dialling and delivering this Mother’s Day order to my door…this photo is now historical and they are all gone. Bippity boppity boo. ✨
If you haven’t tried macarons, what have you been doing with your time on Earth to date?
Let’s just say, the Canadian Timbit had set my treat expectations low as a youth. I would never deny them these days but you know when a box of macarons shows up to the party, the Timbits will always take a backseat.
I first experienced macarons in Australia, they were all over the bakeries. Then when I moved to Europe, I never passed a patisserie or market stall without bringing home something.
My days often consisted of: Walk, indulge, explore, taste test. Still do. It’s who I am, I think in a former life I spent most of my days as a hedonist.
The pursuit of pleasure, especially right now, however you can access, experience and appreciate it, is not to be overlooked. Small joys like these keep me going.
Spring delights which stopped me in my tracks

A robin’s nest with four bright blue eggs, hiding in my mom’s garden – I think it’s in a yet to bloom hydrangea bush…my favourite flowers!

A stroll in Major’s Hill Park, near where I used to work in the ByWard Market over 10 years ago, with my family during Tulip Festival in the early hours of a weekend morning.
It was very quiet, warm and a clear blue sky that day. We even saw a construction crane in front of Parliament Hill’s Peace Tower, so many things to spot downtown!
Today and every day, I hope you’re able to work toward designing a life that works for you and your family – with more ease and less pressure, always. 🌿
Take care,
– Amy (+ Family)
