A Note On St Patrick’s Day

Sky Road in Connemara, Co. Galway, Ireland

Back to Ireland, where it all began.

🇮🇪 12 years ago I went to Ireland for the first time, we were only there 4 days but I knew I had to come back.

🇮🇪 11 years ago I entered a competition (Rose of Tralee) to win a trip to Ireland and met my future husband instead.

🇮🇪 8 years ago we were married in Galway, Ireland and some of our family members and friends finally met each other.

🇮🇪 7 years ago, we moved to Ireland from Australia, living and working between Co. Galway and Co. Kildare.

🇮🇪 6 years ago I drove my parents and him around the Sky Road in Connemara and totally thought I was going to take the car over the edge the whole time. But we didn’t and instead, once we parked, we enjoyed this lovely view (the coastline was opposite the road) and met some ponies.

🇮🇪 4 years ago we brought our first son over from London, England to meet his relations in Galway, touring the Salthill Promenade and taking him for lunch to the hotel where we were married.

🇮🇪 2 years ago we brought our second son and his older brother over to Galway to introduce him to his relations and show them how much our firstborn had grown. We all drove around Connemara again but stayed well away from the Sky Road Loop, sticking to Cong, Spiddal and Oughterard.

🇮🇪Here’s to leaping into the unknown, exploring new places, remembering to call in to see others (when we can) and keeping going even if we feel we’re sometimes teetering a bit too close to the edge. There could be ponies, rainbows and ocean views on the other side!

Happy St Patrick’s Day wherever you’re celebrating it in the world! 🌈🌏

Stay well everyone,

– Amy (+ Family) xx
