What becoming a parent taught me about myself: Kids made me more productive, proactive, less of a precious perfectionist and sparked the urge in me to get it out now because you could die tomorrow, you know? #parentpreneur #flexiblework

Attending events IRL and online…with a baby
Baby and I were snapped at last week’s ‘Restart’ Creative Mornings Ottawa talk! We’re even hanging out in the background behind the uber-inspiring artist-turned accountant-turned artist Ian A. Matthews and his pop-art winter parka. It’s not all about #BYOBaby, packing up the nappy/diaper bag and leaving the house to attend events in real life (IRL)Continue reading “Attending events IRL and online…with a baby”

Making progress for parents who want to attend professional development, one small change at a time
If I don’t accomplish anything other than getting a baby change table mounted to the wall at Invest_Ottawa as part of my Impact Hub Ottawa and Synapcity Impact Academy: City Maker Edition efforts, I’ll be content!

Another day, another professional development event! It was September’s Creative Mornings event at the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of ManagementContinue reading “Bring Your Own Baby (BYOB)”
Bringing children into the boardroom
Yesterday, I posted a snap on Instagram about my business adventures with a little one in tow. It received a good response and I am always inspired by the other parents, parentpreneurs, freelancers, small business owners, employees, founders and spokespeople I see shedding light on the need for flexibility and gender equality in the workplace.Continue reading “Bringing children into the boardroom”
