Highs and lows, ebbs and flows

Amy Maureen Lynch Notes From Another Land July 2021

So far this summer of parenthood has been much like the past five years since our first kid was born.

🌠I’m fine but this post is less highlight reel, more reality and look at what I’m not doing right now because my life is changing.

🎢🎉 I am expecting a baby in early 2022!

🐌 Which is forcing me to sloooooooow down and rest more.

👀 While my other two kids on the outside want to speed up and don’t seem to mind the humidity or my/kid of the future’s needs.

🚼📊 Startup Canada and Future of Good have made announcements about my activism lately and I’m working to roll it out across the country (sloooooowly).

🛑 I’ve had to reschedule my podcast workshop for the WE-Can Project, juggle/pause freelance work and haven’t begun recording Season 3 of my podcast yet. It will have to wait for now.

📢 I normally give zero effs what corporate/traditional business settings will say when it comes to these matters but can we just pause to appreciate how GREAT boundaries, flexible and remote work, mixing personal and professional life, embracing the fact you’re a human and not apologizing for preserving your health and wellbeing can be?

🏥 As well as access to health care and services nearby: I’m always grateful for all the midwives, nurses, GPs, and frontline workers that I’ve met overseas and in Canada since becoming a parent, but even more so during these times.

💚 Thanks also to family, friends, neighbours, clients, colleagues and kind strangers. When we can resurface and reconnect in person or online, I would love to return the favour.
