Remembering How To Receive

Amy at Gold Coast in Australia 2011 | Notes From Another Land

Sunshine and surprises

This is where I’m pretending I am spending most of my sunny days when I close my eyes: On a beach, with nowhere to be and hair that stays in a bun.

Right now I’m regrowing it out and because of the third lockdown extensions in Ontario it’s a bit all over the place.

I’ve had a very wonderful week full of abundance, unexpected surprises, opportunities, offers of help and chats with strangers.

I used to contract and fear the worst immediately after these times, like, “What’s the catch? Will something bad happen now?” A bit of waiting for the Earth to open up and swallow me whole, it is all too good to be true.

I still get it but it’s less intense these days. It has taken a lot of affirmations, experiences, intuitive practice, trust, surrender and belief in my own magic and that of the world around me – I always believed but sometimes I let the fear overpower it a *bit* too much.

Most of the good things in my life have come my way because I didn’t desire the exact outcome. It’s been action, intention, faith and a lot of releasing control. The releasing control is where it’s at.

So from one recovering fearing-the-worst-because-life-can’t-be-so-good-I-don’t-deserve-it-how-can-this-be to potentially another, these are things I tell myself even if I don’t always fully feel it or believe it straight away:

  • It gets to be fun
  • It gets to be easy
  • The less I do, the more I make (money, fun, creative projects, abundance)
  • I am open to receiving
  • I am enough as I am
  • I am safe

Have a lovely weekend, you deserve all the good in life that comes your way.

Take care,
– Amy (+ Family)
